R3 Roadbook Navigation Nacional Championship
The central Portugal round of the championship. The event is a two day roadbook rally run in the Gois / Pampilhosa region of the country.
The event attracts riders from all over Portugal, Spain and the UK, with a full Dakar style rally roadbook, challenging terrain which creates a unique atmosphere both on the trails and in the bivouac.
The event attracts over 140 competitors, who complete in two classes:
- The Sports Class, the top elite riders battle it out with timed sections and complex navigation.
- The Hobby Class, riders in this class are not timed but everything else is exactly the same as the Sports class, with accurate navigation being the key to success.
Many international riders use these events to train for overseas events in Morocco, Abu Dhabi and South America
